Patient Feedback

I had my first mammogram at Sevenoaks Medical Centre after seeing Mr Devalia. The team were very professional and put me at ease. I was very nervous but it was not painful at all and I will definitely return here for my next check up. Patient Feedback – Sevenoaks Breast Clinic

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the breast clinic in Sevenoaks 'one-stop'?

Our Breast Clinic is designed to give you all your answers in one visit, negating the need to attend multiple appointments across different days.

When you attend the Sevenoaks Breast Clinic, you will be seen by a Consultant and have all the necessary testing within one visit. At the end of your appointment, your Consultant will present the results of your tests and explain the necessary treatment plan, if required.

Please note: if a biopsy is required, the results from this will usually return within 7-10 days working days.

Where are the breast clinics held?

Our breast clinic is available at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone and at Sevenoaks Medical Centre. We understand that you’ll want to be seen as quickly as possible, so you can choose where to have your appointment.

Who is the breast clinic for?

Anyone experiencing symptoms such as breast pain, abnormalities or changes within the breast and armpit area can book an appointment with our breast clinics without the need for a referral from your GP.

Please note that this service is not available for patients under the age of 18.

What to expect from your consultation

One of our clinic nurses will accompany you to your consultation, where your Consultant will discuss your symptoms and examine you. Your Consultant will generally request that you have diagnostic scans and tests during your appointment in order to provide prompt results. Our clinic nurses will show you to the relevant department and will be able to offer you support and information about the scans and tests your Consultant has requested. These may include a mammogram, an ultrasound of your breast and a biopsy.

Our specialist Mammographers will carry out your mammogram and the images will be sent to your Consultant during the same clinic.

If you require an ultrasound and biopsy, these will be carried out during your Breast Clinic appointment. However, the tissue sample will need to be sent away for investigation and you will be given a follow up appointment to see your Consultant, usually one week later. Your Consultant will be able to discuss this with you.

What if further treatment is needed?

If your Consultant recommends further treatment, they will discuss all the available options with you when they go through your results. Our team of specialists will be able to support you and help with any questions you might have.

If your Consultant recommends a procedure, this can be carried out at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone.
