Acid reflux, also known as heartburn, affects around 1 in 4 adults in the UK.
Acid reflux is caused by the some of your stomach contents (including gastric acid) travelling back up into the oesophagus which can sometimes causes varying levels of discomfort. It is the major symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD).
Common reflux symptoms can include:
