Many people experience intermittent aches and pain from wisdom teeth cutting through their gums. Whilst this is most often harmless, sometimes the pain can be more severe due to infection and cause swelling or other symptoms relating to your face, jaw and throat. If you are experiencing severe wisdom tooth pain or recurring swollen lymph glands, our Consultants will be able to advise you on whether a wisdom teeth extraction is appropriate.
No waiting lists for fast wisdom tooth removal treatment to relieve your symptoms
With no waiting lists, you can rest assured that you have access to prompt treatment when you need it. During your initial consultation, your Consultant will be able to carry out an examination of your wisdom teeth, jaw and throat to provide you with a diagnosis and advise you on the best course of treatment.

What does a wisdom tooth extraction involve?
The operation can take anywhere from 10 minutes to around 60 minutes for more complex procedures and depends on how many teeth need to be removed. This will also help determine the level of anaesthetic you need.
Your Consultant will cut along the gum and divide the tooth with a drill. Once the tooth is removed, the gum will be stitched.
Following the procedure, you will be taken back to your room and should be able to return home on the same day. The medical team at KIMS Hospital will advise you of any precautions you should take, dependent on what anaesthetic or sedation you were given. They will also give guidance on how to keep the area around the gum clean and what foods you should eat to encourage healing.
