Professional Profile

Sam Pearce is a highly experienced and evidence-based dietitian dedicated to providing personalised, practical, and realistic nutritional advice.

Throughout Sam’s career, he has gained extensive experience working in diverse areas such as surgery, critical care, weight management, oncology, renal care, and respiratory care. This wide-ranging expertise has equipped Sam with the skills and knowledge necessary to address complex nutritional needs and support patients through various health challenges.

Sam Pearce specialises in bariatric surgery, including nutritional optimisation both before and after surgery.  Currently, Sam holds the position of Clinical Lead Dietitian for bariatric surgery at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. In this role, Sam oversees the nutritional care of patients undergoing bariatric surgery, ensuring they receive the best possible dietary support to enhance their recovery and long-term health outcomes. Sam’s commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care makes them a trusted and respected professional in the field of dietetics.

Sam Pearce also specialises in oncology, and prehabilitation.  Oncology dietitian support plays a critical role in the comprehensive care of cancer patients, addressing nutritional challenges that arise from both the disease and its treatment. Proper nutrition is essential for maintaining strength, energy, and the body’s ability to heal, which is particularly crucial for cancer patients who often face unique dietary needs and obstacles.

Sam Pearce’s expertise extends to assisting patients with weight gain and sarcopenia, managing Type 2 diabetes, and addressing reactive hypoglycaemia.  Sam also provides care for lipid-related conditions, including familial hypercholesterolemia and statin intolerance, and offers specialised guidance for IBS at any stage of their journey. He supports patients with HPB diagnoses such as pancreatitis and liver disease, and offers pre- and post-surgical care.

In addition, Sam Pearce is skilled in providing dietary advice for neurological disorders, CVA, MI, respiratory conditions, and female-specific health issues like PCOS, menopause, and endometriosis, ensuring patients are comfortable with his male identity. He also manages conditions such as coeliac disease and covers male infertility issues related to poor sperm quality.
