What is a Bladder and Urology Health Check?

Our Bladder Health Check is a comprehensive assessment focused on maintaining the health of the urinary system in women. This service is designed to identify and address common concerns such as urinary incontinence, recurrent infections, or discomfort, helping you take control of your health with confidence.

This health check is suitable for people who:

  • Experience urinary symptoms such as urgency, frequency, or leakage
  • Have had recurrent urinary tract infections (two or more in six months, or three or more in a year)
  • Have noticed blood in their urine (visible or non-visible, not linked to a confirmed UTI)
  • Want reassurance about their urinary and bladder health

Your Bladder Health Check includes:

  1. Initial consultation with a GP to discuss your health, medical history and any concerns
  2. Renal tract ultrasound (KUB scan) to check your kidneys, ureters and bladder
  3. Urine microscopy, culture and sensitivity testing to look for infection or other abnormalities
  4. Follow-up consultation (virtual) with a GP to review your results and provide tailored recommendations

What happens after my health check?

If any issues are identified during your assessment, such as non-visible or visible blood in the urine, or recurrent UTIs, you may be referred to one of our specialist urology consultants for further investigations and care.
