Doctify Certificate of Excellence 2024

KIMS Hospital has been awarded the prestigious 'Certificate of Excellence' from Doctify! This is to highlight our commitment to providing outstanding care as evidenced through our patient feedback.

Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) Accreditation

KIMS Hospital’s Theatre Department have been awarded the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) accreditation for their high standards of patient safety across their five theatres. Advocating for Safer Surgery in the UK, the AfPP provides guidance and recommendations on safe practice within the perioperative environment and gold standard of all core theatre competencies. This, in turn creates best practice and high-quality patient pathway processes within an ever-changing perioperative environment, making it safer for all patients.

CQC ‘Good’ rating – 14 March 2023

KIMS Hospital has been rated ‘Good’ across all areas of its service by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). In addition, the inspectors found a number of areas of Outstanding practise across the hospital, including for our cardiac catheterisation laboratory which is part of the only interventional cardiology suite in an independent hospital in Kent.

KIMS Hospital’s Pathology Department is officially a UKAS Accredited laboratory. Accreditation determines the technical competence, reliability and integrity of Conformity Assessment Bodies. It's due to the outstanding efforts and work performed by all of our Pathology Team and our Clinical Colleagues that KIMS Hospital has been accredited by UKAS.

NJR 'Quality Data Provider' 2024/25

The National Joint Register (NJR) Quality Data Provider award demonstrates our high standards in patient safety. The NJR monitors the performance of hip, knee, ankle, elbow and shoulder joint replacement operations to improve clinical outcomes for the benefit of patients, clinicians and industry. The scheme benefits hospitals and future patients by recognising and rewarding best practice; increasing engagement and awareness of the importance in quality data collection; and helping embed the ethos that better data informs and ultimately enables improved future care.

NHS Monitor licence - May 2021

The NHS provider licence is the main tool used by NHS Improvement for regulating providers of NHS services. The licence sets out conditions that healthcare providers must meet to help ensure that the health sector works for the benefit of patients. KIMS Hospital is required to self certify annually for this licence and to publish the associated letter. NHS Shared Business Services Approved Framework Supplier

The NHS SBS Approved Framework Supplier accreditation demonstrates our commitment to supporting the NHS, offering our services through the Shared Businesses Services venture. The NHS SBS increases efficiency and reduces costs within the NHS by providing it with easy access to a range of beneficial business services outside of it's own in-house provisions.

KIMS Hospital have achieved Bronze accreditation in the Kent and Medway Workplace Wellbeing Award. The accreditation recognises that we provide a working environment that supports good health and wellbeing.

The Workplace Wellbeing Charter – Excellence Award

KIMS Hospital has achieved Excellence across all nine assessed areas. As the leading independent hospital in Kent, employing over 450 people, KIMS Hospital is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of their people and create a great place to work. By nurturing its people and environment, teams feel better engaged and more productive in their day to day roles. This award is part of a national initiative funded by Public Health England and driven locally by Maidstone Borough Council and Kent County Council, to improve the health and wellbeing of employees.

Working to become Dementia Friendly

KIMS Hospital has recently been recognised as "Working to Become Dementia Friendly" by KCC. The hospital has implemented many measures to ensure that any patient or visitor affected by dementia is well supported and that the environment is dementia friendly. KIMS Hospital works closely with the dementia-friendly Facebook group, Building a Dementia Friendly Maidstone, which was formed in 2014. This group's ethos is to encourage as many local professionals, carers, people with dementia and anyone interested in dementia to work together with the aim to make the Maidstone District Dementia Friendly.

Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA) – Employer of the Year 2018

KIMS Hospital won the award following strong competition in the category with the highest standard of entries ever received in the ten years the KEiBA Awards have been running. This award recognises a Kent-based company’s commercial success and strategies for growth whilst achieving excellence in its commitment to the support and development of its workforce regardless of size.
