Professional Profile
Mr Hasan Al Chalabi is a highly experienced Consultant General Surgeon with specialist expertise in colorectal and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He completed his medical degree at the University of Baghdad in 1999 before moving to Dublin to undertake his surgical training. He later pursued advanced training in colorectal surgery at St James’s Hospital in Dublin and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
Mr Al Chalabi has extensive experience in managing conditions affecting the colon and rectum, including colorectal cancer, as well as a wide range of abdominal procedures. He is skilled in both open and laparoscopic hernia repair and is committed to providing safe, effective and patient centred surgical care.
His academic interests include enhanced recovery programmes aimed at supporting faster rehabilitation and reducing hospital stays. He holds a Master of Surgery degree focused on minimally invasive techniques, particularly in hernia repair. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Al Chalabi is an experienced trainer in endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery and teaches on laparoscopic surgery courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
