Miss Ying Yiing Lou is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in benign gynaecology with a focus on minimal access surgery, ambulatory gynaecology and gynaecological
cancer diagnostics. She graduated from the University of Southampton School of Medicine in 2006 and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the South London/KSS Deanery in 2017, following a clinical fellowship in minimal access surgery at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Appointed as a Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2017, Miss Lou has led the Rapid Access Service since 2021. She is skilled in benign abdominal surgery (open and
laparoscopic), outpatient hysteroscopy, advanced gynaecology ultrasound and holding IOTA certification for ovarian tumour analysis. Having completed the BSGE/Olympus Advanced
Laparoscopy Programme and GESEA MIGS certification, she offers a broad range of diagnostic and operative procedures.
Miss Lou runs a one-stop Rapid Access Clinic for patients with suspected gynaecological malignancies at Maidstone Hospital, integrating consultation, scanning and procedures in a single visit to reduce delays and improve outcomes. She also provides a one-stop gynaecology clinic service to offer see-and-treat for many conditions according to patient wishes (and as clinically indicated). Dedicated to patient-centred care, she combines clinical excellence with a compassionate, non-judgemental approach, aiming to streamline referral pathways and enhance women’s health services.
