Professional Profile

Laila has been is a Consultant Surgeon at Kings College NHS Trust since 2023 and works at the Princess Royal University Hospital site. She graduated from Imperial College London in 2011 and her higher surgical training was undertaken in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region. Following training she completed a fellowship at University College London Hospital where she further developed her specialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction for incisional herniae. She is an Advanced Trauma and Life Support instructor and a fellow of The Emerging Leaders Programme at The Royal College of Surgeons (England). She is actively involved in surgical training and a passionate patient advocate.
