Dr Ravish Mankragod

Dr Ravish Mankragod is a consultant respiratory physician in Maidstone, Ashford, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Chatham. He specialises in cough, lung cancer and asthma, alongside chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep-related breathing disorders and pneumonia. He provides thorough assessment and ongoing care for a wide range of respiratory conditions, offering both outpatient and inpatient services. His NHS base is Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Dr Mankragod holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Physicians, the British Thoracic Society, the European Respiratory Society, the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London and an experienced MRCP examiner.

He completed his medical degree at Mysore Medical College before undertaking MRCP(UK) and later achieving fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians. His specialist respiratory training took place at the University Hospital in Cardiff. He was appointed consultant in respiratory and general medicine at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2006, where he has played an important role in developing the respiratory service.

As lead clinician for respiratory medicine at his NHS base, Dr Mankragod has established specialist asthma services and helped integrate COPD care across the region. He also serves as acute oncology lead. His clinical practice covers all aspects of respiratory medicine, with particular expertise in lung cancer diagnosis, chronic cough, asthma, COPD, sleep apnoea, interstitial lung disease and pleural conditions, including those related to asbestos exposure.

He provides a comprehensive respiratory and sleep service, with access to full diagnostics such as high-resolution CT, bronchoscopy, lung function testing, allergy testing, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for lung cancer staging, polysomnography and thoracic imaging. His inpatient work includes managing pneumonia, pleural effusions and other acute respiratory illnesses.

Alongside his clinical commitments, Dr Mankragod delivers teaching for general practitioners on COPD, sleep-related breathing disorders and respiratory disease. His long-standing experience and structured, patient-centred approach support high-quality care for adults with both common and complex lung conditions.
