Professional Profile

Dr Maithili Srikantha is a Consultant Neurologist providing assessment and management of adult neurological conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. She offers evaluation of new neurological symptoms and ongoing management of established neurological disorders.

Dr Srikantha graduated from the University of London and holds a BSc in lmmunobiology and Pathology from Imperial College London. She completed specialist neurology training in the Oxford and London deaneries, including research at King’s College Hospital on genetic approaches to complex epilepsy. Her higher specialist training included posts at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

She was appointed Consultant Neurologist in 2017 following completion of specialist training (CCST).

Her clinical practice encompasses the breadth of general adult neurology, including:

  • Epilepsy and seizure disorders
  • First seizures and blackouts
  • Headache and migraine disorders
  • Stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
  • Memory problems and cognitive impairment
  • Parkinson’s disease, tremors and movement disorders
  • Multiple sclerosis and inflammatory neurological conditions
  • Peripheral neuropathy, numbness and weakness
  • Traumatic brain injury

Dr Srikantha has contributed to the development of structured first-fit and epilepsy services, supporting timely specialist assessment and coordinated follow-up care.

She aims to provide clear explanations and collaborative management plans, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options. She accepts both insured and self-funding patients.

Dr Srikantha is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the Association of British Neurologists and the International League Against Epilepsy (British Branch). She remains actively involved in medical education and has published in clinical and academic neurology.
