Do you enjoy solving problems, helping people and learning how things work?<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Technician Apprentice to join our IT team and develop their technical skills while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a busy hospital environment.<\/p>\n<p>As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn on the job while working towards an IT qualification, supported by experienced members of our IT team. You&rsquo;ll gain practical experience across a wide range of IT systems and technologies, while developing the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in IT support.<\/p>\n<p>You&rsquo;ll be involved in providing first-line technical support to colleagues across the hospital, helping to resolve issues with computers, laptops, printers, networks, Microsoft applications and other hospital IT systems.<\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys helping others and wants to develop a career in IT.<\/p>\n<p>What will you be doing?<\/p>\n<p>As you develop your skills, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as a first point of contact for IT queries and technical issues from hospital staff.<\/li>\n<li>Log, investigate and resolve IT support requests, escalating issues when appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals and other IT equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Develop your knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office.<\/li>\n<li>Learn how user accounts, email accounts and security permissions are managed.<\/li>\n<li>Gain experience using Active Directory and other IT systems and tools.<\/li>\n<li>Develop an understanding of networks, servers, antivirus, backups and network management.<\/li>\n<li>Support colleagues with hospital-specific applications and systems.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the implementation, training and ongoing support of IT applications.<\/li>\n<li>Work alongside experienced IT professionals and develop your technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with general IT administration and other duties as required.<\/li>\n<li>Attend mandatory training and take an active role in your apprenticeship learning and development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>About the apprenticeship<\/p>\n<p>This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining practical experience within a professional IT environment alongside your formal apprenticeship training.<\/p>\n<p>You&rsquo;ll receive support from both your apprenticeship training provider and our experienced IT team, giving you the opportunity to put your learning into practice every day.<\/p>\n<p>You don&#39;t need to know everything about IT when you start. We&rsquo;re looking for someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You&rsquo;ll be encouraged to ask questions, develop your confidence and build your technical knowledge throughout the apprenticeship.<\/p>\n<p>About you<\/p>\n<p>We&rsquo;re looking for someone who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Has a genuine interest in IT and technology and wants to develop a career in IT support.<\/li>\n<li>Is enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn new skills.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoys helping people and providing good customer service.<\/li>\n<li>Has good verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Is confident speaking to people and able to deal with queries in a polite and professional way.<\/li>\n<li>Is a logical thinker who enjoys solving problems.<\/li>\n<li>Can organise and prioritise their workload.<\/li>\n<li>Is able to work both independently and as part of a team.<\/li>\n<li>Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work.<\/li>\n<li>Is flexible and adaptable and able to remain calm when working under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Is comfortable using computers and has an interest in learning more about Microsoft Windows and Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It would be great if you already have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some experience or knowledge of IT systems, either through education, previous work experience or personal interest.<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office.<\/li>\n<li>An interest in computer hardware, networks or how IT systems work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most importantly, we&rsquo;re looking for potential.
